HEINE expands in-house production operations
Gilching, November 2022
The Plastics Production at HEINE has received two new machines in recent months. HEINE is thus further expanding its in-house production operations and remains independent of suppliers with respect to disposable items like laryngoscope blades and ear speculums for otoscopes.
Our important new addition is a complete manufacturing solution with a Kuka robot that produces disposable blades for the new visionPRO video laryngoscope under clean room conditions. It takes over all the work steps – from the plastic granulate to the packaged, ready-to-use disposable laryngoscope blade. The fully automated system significantly reduces employees’ workload in Production, due to it eliminating the need for monotonous and strenuous tasks.
A plastic injection moulding machine used to continuously produce ear tips was put into operation back in the Spring. Just like the blades, the material used for these products is recycled plastic. Practitioners use the disposable tips made from recycled plastic directly on the patient to examine the inner ear.
By the way, the two injection moulding machines come from Arburg, a German machine construction company.
